Garth Ennis Dives Into American History with Dreaming Eagles

From GARTH ENNIS, the creator of the hit AMC television show PREACHER, Ennis returns to his roots of creating compelling and gripping war comics with Dreaming Eagles (9781935002949, $29.99) from Aftershock Comics.

Dreaming Eagles (9781935002949, $29.99) tells the story of the first African-American fighter pilots to join the United States Army Air Force in WWII and whose humble beginnings in Tuskegee, Alabama propelled them into the deadly skies above Adolf Hitler's Third Reich. Not only were they instrumental against the Nazi war machine, but also braved an equally great challenge, overcoming everyday bigotry amongst their fellow American soldiers as well as civilians at home. High in the heavens, they fought a battle that would change their country for all time.

Collecting all six issues of the critically-acclaimed limited series, Dreaming Eagles is presented in a hardcover format and covers an important chapter in American history. The graphic novel is slated for an October 2017 release and can be previewed below. For more information on this title, click here.

REVIEWS
"The story begins in the 1960s when Reggie Atkinson’s son, Lee, gets involved in a fight over Lee’s views on the burgeoning civil rights movement. Reggie tells Lee about his time as a fighter pilot, and the story cuts between Reggie and Lee on the porch and dogfighting WWII action. Several real-life characters and events pop up, courtesy of Ennis’s interviews with veterans. This is well-researched with clear respect for its subjects." - PUBLISHERS WEEKLY "Packed with history and heart, DREAMING EAGLES is a strongly driven character piece from writer and creator Garth Ennis." -BIG COMIC PAGE "This one breaks the sound barrier of comic standards and I highly recommend it!"
- COMICCRUSADERS.COM "DREAMING EAGLES is one of the most chilling, goosebump-inducing, poignant moments I've ever experienced in comics."
