Michelle Perez and Remy Boydell's 'The Pervert' Named In L.A. Times Book Prize Finalist

The finalists for the 2018 Los Angeles Times Book Prizes have announced the nominees for the annual literary awards. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at USC's Bovard Auditorium on April 12, the day before the start of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Among the finalists of the Comics & Graphic Novel category was The Pervert published by Image Comics. The Pervert is an honest and touching account of a trans girl surviving through sex work in Seattle. With excerpts published in Eisner nominated anthology ISLAND, the full colour volume, drawn and painted by Remy Boydell is an unflinching debut graphic novel and written by Michelle Perez was also featured on Vulture and New York Magazine's Best Comics of 2018.
